Based on your selections, here’s your industry profile:

(Customer profile) We sell to businesses (B2B) (What do you sell ?) Physical Products (Where do you sell ?) Domestic & Foreign markets (How do you inventory ?) We use our own warehouses (Which of these selling profiles fit your business ?) Deals take longer to close and may have complex logistics

As a result, here are some features you might want to explore further:

What does your selling cycle typically look like ?
Do you manufacture, assemble, configure, and / or customize products ?
How do you sell ?
Where do you inventory & fulfill ?
What does your selling cycle typically look like ?
Because you sell services with a short selling cycle...
  • Resource availability & scheduling - Assign tasks to people resources based on their availability.
  • Service fulfillment from the order - After an order is placed, add a customizable service fulfillment template which sets a task list to be completed from within the order. So for example let’s say you sell an A/C inspection service, and send the service person on site for an repair. From a tablet, that service person can check of what is completed right on the order, then process the invoice and receive payment before leaving.
  • Integration with Office 365 and Google G-Suite - Email and Calendaring for each user.
  • One of the only cloud ERPs in the world to offer B2C Ecommerce on the same database - This means that everything is leveraged on Ecommerce (nothing to connect = nothing to duplicate). So all the other modules you’ll already be using will be leveraged too, including Accounting, CRM, Price & Promotion Management.
Because you sell services with a longer selling cycle...

Opportunity & Deal Mgt for longer selling cycles - Because longer selling cycles demand maximum, granular control, BizAutomation includes industrial strength CRM that leverages everything in the suite (can your CRM ?):

  • Add hourly based service line items that make up quotes and proposals - The object of every selling opportunity are the selling of services, which are used to create proposals, quotes, and estimates.
  • Milestones & Stages (% of closing) - Add customizable selling templates with assignable tasks that contribute to the deal won percentage in proportion to the impact of each completed task.
  • Customized Proposals - Build custom proposals (i.e. you may call them estimates, bids, quotes, etc..) from the opportunities with all required documents such as terms and conditions.
  • Communications Management - Create forum topics around which all contacts associated with the opportunity can comment on, with BizAutomation orchestrating the email communications.
  • Flexible Invoicing - When opportunities convert into deals, flexible invoicing terms and conditions can be applied, such as phased invoices based on milestones completed, percentage based deliverables, and more.

Project Management - Create projects that link directly to the orders, invoices and bills that make up time and materials involved in the engagement, so that you later project profit and loss can be evaluated.

Integration with Office 365 and Google G-Suite - Email and Calendaring for each user.

Analytics

  • Performance Evaluation - Compare resource productivity by task
  • Production, Resource, and Capacity Planning
  • Custom Reporting
  • Gantt Charting
  • P&L
Because you sell products directly to your customers with a short selling cycle...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

  • Batch-Fulfillment - Shorter selling cycles typically mean fewer line items with lower unit counts per order. With higher order velocity but lower profit per order, an efficient mass fulfillment process is key to profitability. With BizAutomation, you’ll be able to pick, pack, ship, invoice, and close hundreds of orders in one fell swoop.
  • One of the only cloud ERPs in the world to offer B2C Ecommerce on the same database - This means that everything is leveraged on Ecommerce (nothing to connect = nothing to duplicate). So all the other modules you’ll already be using will be leveraged too, including Accounting, CRM, Price & Promotion Management, RMA returns, product warranties, shipping, payment processing, net-terms, and much more.
  • Multi-Channel Integration - Automatically receive orders, and send data back to over 2 dozen marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Target, with new channels being added all the time both domestically and off-shore (requires eChannelhub).
Because you sell products through resellers & partners with a short selling cycle...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

  • B2B Relationship Pricing & Promotions tiers - Target different reseller tiers based on your incentive structures, so that for example, resellers in one group receive one set of terms and conditions (discounts, conditional promotions), from another. If you split commissions with partners, our commission module can handle it, so that all inbound orders are assigned to relevant partners, thereby triggering relevant profit share.
  • B2B Portal & Ecommerce facilities - The BizCommerce platform is one of the only such platforms in the world, that’s offered on the same database as all the other ERP suite functions. This means that everything is leveraged on Ecommerce (nothing to connect = nothing to duplicate). It can be used for many self-service B2B operations, including, cataloging, displaying customized views of inventory, self-service reorder with memorized item lists to prevent the drudgery of adding items individually, RMA management, and much more. Order history, as well as terms and conditions such as net-terms, past due aging, and much more is also provided.
If partner invoicing is integral to your operation, BizAutomation can automate invoices to partners after fulfillment.
  • Blind & Branded Drop-Ship - Drop ship to your reseller or reseller’s customer using their own branding or without any branding at all (i.e. blind drop-shipping). You can also drop-ship from your vendor to your reseller, or that reseller’s customer, which can include your own inventory and non-inventory.
  • Reseller / Partner Order Allocations - If you ship to partner warehouses, and purchase specifically for the order BizAutomation can enables the ability to reserve stock from purchases directly to partner orders, avoiding backorder scenarios due to an inability to know which order to allocate product to during the picking process.
Because you sell products with a moderate selling cycle...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

  • Pricing & Promotions - You’ll find our exceptionally flexible pricing and promotion management worth exploring because of how granularly it enables tuning of business tiers across internal and commerce platforms.
  • A simplified yet customizable quote to order process - Quote orders using your own customized forms, with workflow automated to fit your specific business processes. This can include a basic set of selling guidelines that take into account your organization’s best selling practices, ticking all the boxes that enforce rigor while courting opportunities in order to maximize the likelihood of closing longer duration opportunities.
  • Batch or Discrete Fulfillment - An organization without overly complex invoicing needs, probably may have a fair amount of batch fulfillment which processes the pick, pack, ship, and even invoicing by groups of items and/or orders. But batch processing may not tick all your requirement boxes, because some outlier orders may require custom processes. To that end you’ll find customization that extends custom workflow processes, custom fields, and split invoicing with support for delayed release dates.
  • Employee & Reseller/Partner Incentive Programs - With BizAutomation’s commission management, direct and indirect selling resources can be incentivized in any number of ways, including variable commission rates by product category, and and the ability to commission both internal staff and resellers within the same order.
Because you sell products with a long selling cycle...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

Opportunity Mgt for longer selling cycles - Because longer selling cycles demand maximum, granular control, BizAutomation includes industrial strength CRM that leverages everything in the suite (can your CRM ?):

  • Add line items from inventory that make up quotes and proposals - The object of every selling opportunity are the selling of products and services, which are used to create proposals, quotes, and estimates.
  • Demand Planning Impact - As opportunities near the closing stage, your purchasing department is made aware so they can factor in likely demand, in order to minimize supply chain delays.
  • Order Conversion - When a deal is won, the opportunity can automatically be converted into a order, at which point inventory and accounting are impacted accordingly.

Flexible Order Logistics - Once opportunities are successfully converted into deals, you’ll have the granular control over order logistics, including:

  • Partial fulfillment & invoicing - If a deal has many line items, and the client requires multiple release dates, you’ll be able to ship product according to schedules with matching invoices.
  • Custom Invoicing - Invoices within a deal/order can be configured to include partial quantities or percentages for each line item.
  • PO from SO allocation - If you need to purchase for a portion or all of the order, and need to wall off inventory when it arrives in order to comply with delivery commitments.
  • Order modifications - As is often the case, the larger the deal the more likely change orders are to take place.

Employee & Partner Incentive Programs - With BizAutomation’s commission management, direct and indirect selling resources such as consultants, partners, and sub-contractors can be included in the deal, so they can be included in incentive programs such as variable commission rates, which can be shared across all parties.

Because you manufacture products...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

  • Build to order or stock - Create work orders based on bills of material (BOM) multiple layers deep, from new sales orders, or from item records, with the option of bypassing the work order process altogether when needed.
  • WIP routing & Resource Scheduling - Automatic planning and production scheduling based on resource availability, which itself leverages existing workloads from other builds, projects, and scheduled tasks.
  • Manufacturing demand planning - Forecast how many finished goods should be scheduled for manufacture based on item replenishment formulas, including opportunities nearing close-won status, order demand, and seasonality.
  • Production Planning & Scheduling - Automatic planning and production scheduling based on resource availability, and skill grading.
Because you customize, configure, and/or are involved in light assembly...

We’ve run across many scenarios where the client thought they needed a full fledged MRP when all they ended up needing is a custom kitting or assembly configurator.

  • Item configurations - Our item configurator will enable you to configure items dynamically from up to hundreds of thousands, or even millions of possible configurations. When you do, you can create one-off SKU #s, that live with the order, or if preferred can be converted into kits and/or assemblies you can put on the shelf for future selling and building. FSB Germany uses SAP for their European operations but came to BizAutomation for their North American operations primarily because of our ability to handle complex item configurations.
  • Simple custom “one-off” items - Sometimes you don’t want to dilute your item database with one-off items that will likely never be used again (i.e. are “custom”) and should only live with a particular order.
  • Matrix customization - Setup item matrixes with product variations such as color and size.
  • Options, Accessories, Up-sell, and “Like” Cross-sell items - Not often thought of in this space, but worth mentioning is the ability to add line items to an order based on the initial item selection. For example, say you sell a patio set, that may be packaged with optional accessories, or any other related item, and while creating the order you want see possible combinations. It’s different than a configurator, because each related item takes up its own line item within the order whereas configured items are nested.
Because you manage your own warehouses...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

Warehouse Management System (WMS) highlights we think you’ll appreciate

  • Unlimited number of external locations - These can be warehouses, trucks, virtual client warehouses reflecting levels brought in from API calls, or anything you store product in.
  • Unlimited number of internal locations - Aisles, Racks, Shelves, Bins
  • Static Warehouse Mapping - Map employees, customers, and vendors to default locations, so that sales orders and purchase orders are created, the default warehouse is selected based on pre-set criteria.
  • Dynamic Warehouse Mapping - Let BizAutomation decide what warehouse to select based on formulas such as country, ship-from/ship-to distance, product availability, etc...
  • Inventory fulfillment by warehouse - Pick, Pack, Ship by warehouse, and warehouse location.
  • Shipping - Parcel integration for instant ship rates, the print shipping labels and tracking numbers. Set your own freight services. Create shipping rules that take into account shipping promotions (i.e. buy X and shipping free), minimum shipping fees based on geographic ship-to location, and much more.
  • All physical item types are supported (with bar-coding) - serialization & lot#s, standard inventory (stock), noninventory (drop-ship), kitting, assemblies, configurable item types, matrix items with variations, services, assets.
Because you drop-ship from vendors, and/or inventory via 3PLs...

Here are some highlights you may want to explore with us further:

Drop-ship scenarios supported

  • From supplier to your customer’s warehouse - This involves a purchase order which can originate from a sales order, or as a stand-alone record, with the ship-to being that of the customer you’re selling to. This workflow can be automated when creating new orders for non-inventory items that are subscribed to this process, or you may perform drop-shipping manually, even against inventory items, where exceptions to inventory and pick, pack, and ship fulfillment are automatically managed by BizAutomation.
  • From supplier to your customer’s customer warehouse - Similar to the previous scenario, with the only difference being ship-to variations.
  • From your warehouse to your customer’s customer ship-to location - In this case we’re presuming that your customer is a reseller, dealer, or partner, and you’re shipping to their customer’s ship-to location.

3PL support - A 3PL can be a dedicated “3PL” that handles receiving and fulfillment on your behalf, but can just as easily be supplier willing to leverage their warehouse and fulfillment on your behalf.

  • How BizAutomation does 3PL- BizAutomation can connect to any WMS that supports the exchange of XML via SFTP (This is mature technology that should be supported by any supplier or 3PL that uses an up to date WMS). When this is implemented, you’ll be able to automate the sending of ship-requests, and the receiving of automated shipping notices (ASNs) after product is shipped, which will release allocation from BizAutomation.

Unlimited number of “virtual warehouses” - If your suppliers support API calls that enable inventory levels to be reflected from your own WMS, BizAutomation can handle this during the implementation phase of the project.

Because you buy physical products, here’s some supply-chain highlights you’ll want to explore...

If you buy from domestic suppliers with a fast turn-around time:

  • Create POs from SOs - With the ability to match sales orders to pick allocation to avoid mis-allocating product, ensuring your shipping commitments are met.
  • Drop-Shipping - Fast turn-around times open up drop-shipping strategies. Turn any inventory item into a dropship item from the sales order itself.
  • Connected Vendor Warehouses- If you heavily depend on a supplier and that vendor has the ability to let you use API calls to access to their WMS, BizAutomation can setup virtual warehouses that make your vendor’s warehouse appear as one of your own.

If you buy from foreign suppliers:

  • Landed Cost - Takes on extra importance due to added costs incurred when buying from abroad.
  • Granular lead-time management - Lead times can vary depending on any number of variables such as warehouse location, ship-vias, reputation, etc... So we’ve provided you with tools that let you carefully setup lead time estimates based, that maximize your insight during both purchasing and selling situations.
  • PO Merge - When lead-times span months, having the ability to merge multiple purchase orders into a single PO to leverage economies of scale is crucially important.

Vendor Invoicing & Billing Automation - Automatically classify inbound emails containing vendor invoices, then convert them into data that’s automatically compared to open purchase orders in order to validate that both purchase order and vendor invoice line items, units, and unit prices match, before creating A/P bills.
