Here are some BizAutomation technologies BizCommerce leverages:
CRM & Order Management
Inventory & Warehouse Management (WMS)
Financials
B2C & B2B Storefront - Sell to end customers, dealers, and with partners.
Product Catalog - Expose any of the items in BizAutomation (e.g. item configurator, matrix items, manufactured goods, just regular stock, etc.…).
Gated Web-site Portal - Require login to configure specifically for registered users. Expose only products and services relevant to their particular login credentials.
Stand alone commerce (e.g. Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, etc..) can be connected to BizAutomation, and in the short-term - that might be a good idea. But in the long term, you’ll be better served with a unified platform that not only prevents a software hairball from forming, but having everything from ERP suite accessible on the same system, can open up new unrealized competitive ideas we can discover together.
Being able to generate and fulfill orders from any source, through any channel, delivered from any warehouse, to any location, is the only way to position for where we’re headed from here on out.
If you sell on 3rd party marketplaces, BizAutomation has a built in connectivity solution that minimizes the expense typically associated with multi-channel implementation.
Multi-channel orders - Including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and dozens more.
Upstream process capabilities - Send back tracking numbers, inventory count, and values mapped to custom fields.
Expedited Shipping - If you ship from multiple warehouses in geo-strategic locations, BizAutomation can pick the warehouse closest to your customer’s shipping location.
Exclusive partnership with eChannelHub - Enables access the latest channel feeds while allowing us to focus on our core competencies.
3rd party fulfillment / logistics (3PL) - Organizations that leverage warehouse space and staff, to store, receive, and fulfill inventory because they can do it for less based to economies of scale, and/or because they’re geographically closer to your customers.
EDI - A standards based communication protocol usually required by one trading partner of the other, and is used to automate the exchange of (mostly) order related documents, such as purchase orders, ship requests, invoices, and shipping notices (e.g. ASNs).
Our approach:
Where most ERP systems hand over control of all the data and workflow processes to solution partners via something called an SDK, we opted not to because it results in an an unreasonable level of dependence. Instead, we built reusable processes right into the suite, separating it from the data portion which any partner could map to, making it possible for customers to swap one EDI or 3PL partner for another with minimal disruption to their business.
How it works:
BizAutomation uses XML documents to send and receive transactions to and from trading partners via SFTP. For example, a PO generated in EDI is converted to XML, sent to SFTP, and converted into a sales order in BizAutomation, a process that’s entirely automated.
When product is fulfilled, an XML shipping notice (aka ASN) and invoice is placed on the SFTP server, which is then relayed back to the trading partner or through a value added network (e.g. eChannelHub, TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce, etc..). If a 3PL partner needs a ship request, it’s sent out using the same approach, only in that case the ASN is sent from the 3PL to release allocation, then relayed upstream to a trading partner if that portion of the workflow is required.
Because XML is a mature, standards based technology, all EDI commerce companies and most established 3PLs will be able to support it (i.e. map to our XML schemas, as well as send and receive those mapped XML documents via SFTP).

“We use to run NetSuite’s “SuiteCommerce” platform, and now run everything on BizAutomation (sterlingseal.com). It was a great decision - Darren DeRosa
